This and That

Ain't I one cool dude with my four wheeler and Mickey Mouse sippy cup!
(yes Mim, the "ain't" was just for you!)

We enjoy going to the nice park near our house to PLAY!

Well, it started with just bear...now includes Sheep, Baby, and Frosty

Call on me anytime to help whip up some pancakes!

I rode Pop's horse Sioux for the first time.....coincidentally this was Sioux's first time ever having a saddle OR rider on her as she is a draft horse and normally PULLS stuff. Siox was chosen as my first "alone" ride as she is as calm as they come. Notice my concentration!!!

A little more relaxed at this point.

Thank you Sioux.

Apple anyone?

I didn't really have ANY desire to stand still for a picture with Mommy by Opelika's Christmas Tree.

Did you know that Santa and Mrs. Claus came to my neighborhood to visit?

We stole a quick pose on our neighbor's porch!

The display they put at our house.

Ax Men Cometh

Ok...we have lived in our house now for 3.5 years. Since DAY 1 I have wanted to take out half of the forest growing on our lot. We have (had) 24 HUGE oaks and pines....now only 11!!! See below... Here is a shot of our house/lot BEFORE the harvest. Yes, that is our house sandwiched between all of those trees. The tallest pine is still standing, but the tallest one harvested was 120+/- feet and 24 inches in diameter.

This big boy is limbed, topped, and ready to come down!

He never flinched 120' in the air. I flinched the whole time and my feet NEVER left the ground.

This definitely won't make a homeowner nervous.

Nice load of lumber. This is from only two trees.

This beast made short work of the stumps.

Finished product! We still have a fair amount of trees, but now it doesn't look quite like we have trees growing out of our windows. The updates are not complete...check back to see what else we will do to our place.

Our Little Helper

Last year we carried this little guy around as we got Christmas decorations out and things arranged....NOT THIS YEAR!! Sawyer has throughly enjoyed participating in all things Christmas around our house and neighborhood. See below... Had to put his own "touch" to our Christmas Tree.

We decorated Sawyer's tree in his room.

Helping put the stamps on our Christmas cards.

If you can't tell from this photo, Sawyer LOVES his Elf on a Shelf and fiber optic Christmas village. He named his elf "Bob", nope don't no where that name came from, but "Bob" it is. Also notice in this picture the rocks. Sawyer, as all boys should be, is fascinated with rocks and sticks and we enjoy finding them in different places throughout our house!

Our neighborhood puts on the annual Victorian Front Porch Tour for a week in December. Our display is a young boy and a deer. Personally I think some of the displays are a bit creepy, but most are ok. When Sawyer saw the boy in our yard he booked it to him and promptly introduced himself.....no he has NO idea it is just paper-mache!

He does like the "buck deer" and must "ride" him at least once a day! If you are around Opelika stop by. The tour starts each night at 5pm cst and runs through 10pm. It is pretty packed between 6-8 though. They close the streets to vehicles on Saturday and have a walking tour.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

November Catch-Up

An early November wedding in the North Georgia mountains led to a stop at Tallulah Falls

The weekend before Thanksgiving Laura's side of the family got together in the Tennessee mountains.

Love to show off my "teef" with a smile!

Mama Ann loaded up her car and brought the "real-deal" Thanksgiving dinner to the cabin in the mountains. Of course it was yummy!

Took a drive through Cades Cove

and up to Clingman's Dome!

Thanksgiving Day with Joseph's folks...

where Sawyer had to play football with Aunt "Kessies" lab Boeing!

Traditionally we head to Montgomery to be with the Parkman's again for a different twist to Thanksgiving dinner...

Uncle Dean (Laura's Father's Brother) fixes a hog for everyone to eat....tasty isn't the word!

We had fun, but all Sawyer really cared to do was push the "tractor" around the pasture...again...again...and AGAIN!

This boy can already sit a saddle.

Visiting with Grandma

@ Toomer's Corner with Mommy after Auburn beat Alabama to go 12-0 for the season!!

War Eagle!!!!!!

The day after the Iron Bowl we went out to Lakeside Tree Farm to pick out our Christmas tree for this year.

I had a blast running through the trees.

Running between the Frazier Firs from North Carolina was like going through a car wash.

Thanks Mr. Donald, Mommy and Daddy have a ton of memories from your Christmas Tree farm and now I have some too!

Ready or not, here comes the CHRISTmas season!!!!!!!!

Buddies and Puppies

Hi everybody. Mommy and Daddy took me to visit my buddy Patrick down in Jay, FL this past weekend. We had a blast playing and being silly. Patrick's Mommy and Daddy were very kind to invite us down and we had a great visit.
We came home Saturday evening and had fun watching Auburn beat Ole Miss. Speaking of Ole Miss.....Pop and Mim went to Oxford for the game and on the way home stopped and picked up two new cow-dog puppies for the farm. My friend "Cayce", Daddy's last Australian Shepherd, died last week. Pop had been looking for just the right friends for me to play with. I think he found them. Their names are "Bess" and "Tula" and they LOVE me.... Enjoy the pictures from this past weekend. -Sawyer
