Watermelons and Caribbean Sunshine

June has been very busy yet relaxing at the same time. Sawyer has enjoyed piggin out on tasty watermelons and fresh vegetables from our garden. Laura and I slipped off for a few days and headed down to the Bahamas to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We are back now and so excited to take part in the timeless southern ritual of sweating from dawn to dusk with the good ol heat and humidity.
Yummy Yummy !

We sailed on Royal Caribbean. Had a blast!

This is what I spent most of the day Sunday looking at.

We stopped by Atlantis while visiting Nassau.

Nothing behind Laura but churning water and the Atlantic.

ALL of our dinners were WONDERFUL! I asked Laura when we went in Jim Bob's to eat last night if she thought the Maitre d' would seat us at a "good" table! For those of you who don't know, Jim Bob's is a chicken finger joint in Opelika. It has been tough fixing our own meals the past few days....

As the sun sets on our trip we reflect on the past five years and are prayerful for MANY more!

Birthday Week

Mama Ann and I took Mommy out to Amsterdam Cafe for a birthday lunch early this week.
Mommy's favorite birthday treat is a stack of "silver dollar" sized pancakes equal to the amount of years she turns. Novel idea, but getting to be more and more!

Daddy and I took her out to Provino's for a birthday dinner. Happy Birthday Mommy. We love you!
Tuesday was primary day here in Alabama. Sawyer helped me out at the polls.

This boy LOVES to sit on ANYHTING and pretend he is driving.

Our garden is GROWING! We are full of squash and cucumbers. The beans and two varieties of sweet corn will be ready in a few days. Okra and watermelons are getting ready. There are also tomatos, zuchinni, and eggplant on the way. There is a lot of "beba bulls", Sawyer for vegetables, in this 600 sq ft garden.

Along with vegetables in the humid Alabama summer you can always count on "Mr. No-Shoulders". This Marvyn Cottonmouth decided to smile for Laura when she stopped to take his picture. She shot him with her camera ... I shot him with my 38!
